What changed
Aromoshelf is a perfume-collection app in a niche with almost no search demand. In the U.S. the entire keyword base was perfume, fragrance and scent. We found new markets, rebuilt the metadata for 13 locales and redesigned the screenshots. Organic impressions grew 12x and downloads 7x between May and August 2025.
How we did it
-
1
Found markets the client wasn’t targeting
The plan was U.S.-only. Competitor and traffic analysis showed more room to grow, so we added Spain and Germany as priority markets alongside the U.S.
-
2
Built a keyword base from three words
We sorted competitors into direct, indirect and irrelevant, then mined the relevant ones for search terms. The strongest went into the Title, Subtitle and Keyword field for each locale.
-
3
Scaled to 13 locales
Four locales indexed in the U.S. at launch, then about one new locale a month: U.K. English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and Simplified Chinese.
-
4
Redesigned the screenshots to convert
New order from core to secondary features, zoom-ins on key UI, short messages with soft CTAs, and a cooler background that stands out from competitors. Downloads climbed after the new set went live on 29 July.
